Love it. One of the most versatile rides I've had in 56 years of playing. Had one in 1968 too. Excellent balance of stick definition/ping and wash. Neither is dominant or overwhelms the other. Not pingy or loud enough for heavy/loud music. Just right to be very versatile for most though. Does sound a bit "tinny" with nylon tips... Great with wood.Pay the big bucks, get the best! As a professional drummer for over 40 years, I know you can try other brands but we always come back to Zildjian. Sweet tone right in the pocket for live and recording. It has a nice, ever-so-slightly wet ping that works beautifully on Jazz but isn't too wet for Rock, Country, or Fusion. You can crash on it but it can get quite loud when you do--slow decay.
